We Need Volunteer Researchers and Writers for the SurveyLA Context Statement

The Office of Historic Resources is seeking experienced researchers and writers to assist in completing SurveyLA's Historic Context Statement. The context statement is a narrative document that discusses the history and development of Los Angeles and covers themes that include architecture as well as social, cultural, and ethnic history. This rich narrative provides a foundation for identifying important historic resources through SurveyLA and a consistent framework for their evaluation. For more information on the historic context see the attached Historic Context Statement Outline and Resource Guide.

To find out more about this volunteer opportunity please contact Janet Hansen at (213) 978-1191 or via e-mail at Janet.Hansen@lacity.org.

Note that if you are interested in contributing information about potential historic resources and districts in your neighborhood, also see the Participate and MyHistoricLA pages of this website.
