Asian Americans Historic Contexts Published

SurveyLA’s Asian American Historic Context Statement Completed

The Office of Historic Resources completed an Underrepresented Communities Grant from the National Park Service (NPS) to establish historic contexts to guide the identification and designation of sites significant to the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, and Thai communities of Los Angeles. The contexts were developed with input from a diverse advisory committee, convened by the OHR, and a team of historic resources consultants led by Architectural Resources Group (ARG). The contexts are published at SurveyLA.org and resulted in the submittal of a National Register of Historic Places Multiple Property Documentation Form which was heard by the State Historical Resources Commission at their meeting of October 26, 2018 and has been  forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register for listing.
